Chelsea are looking to add more options to their squad this summer and are looking to bring in another top quality defender before the end of the transfer window.
Their search has seen them make slow moves towards Juventus central defender Danielle Rugani and although it is believed the Turin giants are not interested on selling their prized asset, Chelsea will not give up.
He is a direct wish by new manager Maurizio Sarri, who monitored the player in his time as Napoli head coach in the Serie A and wants to train Rugani, telling Stamford Bridge chiefs, the defender is the ideal target to help beef up their defensive options.
The 23-year old is one of Juventus’ future stars having sold Leonardo Bonucci to AC Milan last summer and also let Leichesteiner off to Arsenal this summer, but Chelsea will not give up their chase and are reportedly willing to cough up to £45 million to secure a deal according to Goal.
Rugani’s agent says Chelsea are interested in signing his client, but the siutation wholly rest on Juventus.
“Chelsea? Yes they do have interest in Daniele Rugani, let’s see. Other than the numbers, there are also some technical questions.
Rugani has never said that he wanted to leave and Juve never said they wanted to sell him.”
