Chelsea are visibly in the hunt for a new striker whether to replace their top starting strikers or to provide depth in their squad, but the departure of Alvaro Morata never leaves the tabloids this summer.
The striker has been linked with a return to Italy after he spent majority of his professional career there with Juventus. Initial summer reports had it that Morata will sign for Juventus, but the narrative has since changed with media in Italy suggesting he will instead sign for AC Milan, especially after Juventus brought in Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid.
Should Morata leave, Chelsea are strongly looking to sign Gonzalo Higuain from Juventus and although that does not look likely yet, top Italian agent and representative of Manolo Gabbiadini says he expects to see Morata playing for Milan while Higuain will move to Chelsea this summer.
“According to me, Higuain will go to Chelsea, while Morata will head to Milan. Bonucci-Caldara? I know Marotta at least a little, they must laugh at a deal like that, it would not be like selling a 94 for a 87. It’s really strong then, there are not many around. ”
