Chelsea’s last winter transfer Ross Barkley has not enjoyed his time at Stamford Bridge so far but it looks as though the best times are yet to come with new head coach Maurizio Sarri saying ‘he likes’ Barkley ‘very much’.
The midfielder saw his career at Chelsea get off to a miserable start after he failed to break into the first team following his arrival from Everton in January this year. His arrival from the Goodison Park was met with several hamstring injuries that curtailed any progress he was on while a Toffee player.
Seen as one of the most promising players in his generation in England, Barkley looks set to wow his fans and critics alike and looks forward to the season ahead.
His head coach seems keen to go all the way with him, after the Italian tactician praised him for his ‘technical’ attributes, insisting he likes him very much.
I like him, he’s a technical player. I like him very much. He has to improve on the defensive phase, I think. It’s difficult in this moment to play with Jorginho, Cesc [Fabregas] and Ross all together. But I like him. I think he will be a very useful player for us.”
