Chelsea look ready to beat Liverpool for France star Nabil Fekir this summer despite Lyon insisting he not for sale at any price in this transfer window.
The Blues have been in search of another midfielder to inject more creativity into their new style of play under Maurizio Sarri, who arrived this summer with a brand new philosophy of football to be played at the club.
After signing Jorginho, Sarri has hinted he would be content with his squad if he lands another midfielder with superior ability – and according to Get French Football News, that man could well be Fekir.
Liverpool went very close to signing him this summer until the deal was called off as per the Telegraph. But with just a couple of days to go to the end of the window, Chelsea want to make an official bid for the Lyon player who in 30 appearance in Ligue 1 last season, scored 18 goals and grabbed eight assists.
Fekir can give Sarri another option in attack and attacking midfield with his deft left foot that opens up defenses with clever passes in the final third.
