Chelsea make decision on punishment for Thibaut Courtois after goalkeeper continues to miss training

Chelsea are set to hand a tough punishment to goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, after the Belgium international continued to miss training, as he pushes for a move to Real Madrid.

Courtois has not hidden his desire to play for Real Madrid and that opportunity arrived this summer when Los Blancos showed serious interest in him after the 2018 World Cup, where he picked up the Golden Glove award for his performances for Belgium as he helped them to a third place finish.

The 26-yer old was given an extended break but was expected to arrive at Chelsea’s training complex in Cobham this week to join his teammates, but the former Genk goalkeeper has refused to make the trip to London, insisting he prefers to join his future teammates in Madrid instead.

That has angered the Blues hierarchy who are keen to hand the player a severe punishment of two week wage fine, according to Marca, who quote English media.
