Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi is currently in limbo waiting to discover what his future holds, but more pressing is what will happen to his official status in the coming hours.
The Belgium international is one of four strikers currently in the Blues setup, and with Maurizio Sarri constantly showing he will go with only striker upfront in a 4-3-3 formation, it is very unlikely all four will remain at the club this season. The likes of Eden Hazard, Willian, Pedro and Callum Hudson-Odoi are vying for the positions on the flank.
Alvaro Morata is still considered one of the leading names in the starting set of players to be regularly called on by Sarri, as well as Olivier Giroud, and both players have given a clear indication they are going nowhere this season.
So that leaves Batshuayi and Tammy Abraham as the only strikers almost certain to leave on Thursday, although Abraham might have his chance in cup games. Batshuayi will not settle for that and will want more minutes.
The Blues were said to be involved in discussions with Valencia to sell the Belgium international according to El Desmarque via the Metro, but Superdeporte refute that report and says there is currently no talks between the two clubs.
En unos mins en @superdeporte_es la información sobre @mbatshuayi El VCF quiere al jugador pero ahora mismo no hay negociación con el @ChelseaFC y hay que esperar a que cierren su plantilla. Hay una fecha para empezar la ofensiva.
