Chelsea superstar Eden Hazard has told the club’s fans, and most importantly Real Madrid, that he is no mood to leave the club this summer transfer window, referring to some of the rumors as ‘a lot of stupidity’.
The Belgium international has been one of the most talked about players in this summer’s transfer window, after reports linked him with a move to the Santiago Bernabeu.
The forward played excellently at the 2018 World Cup and was voted winner of the Silver Ball award, after guiding Belgium to third place at the tournament. Those performances triggered more talk that Real would jump in for the talismanic playmaker with Le 10 Sport reporting that there had been an agreement between the two clubs, via Metro Sport.
But the word from Maurizio Sarri has been that Chelsea would not lose their star player this summer window and that may be true after all.
Hazard has said he will not leave Chelsea ‘this month’ signalling he might weigh his options in the coming months before making a decision about his future ahead of the 2019 summer transfer window.
“A lot has been said. A lot of stupidity too. But at the moment I’m happy. I have two years left on my contract and we’ll see what happens. Leaving this year? I won’t go. The transfer market in England is closed.
Clubs can still sell players, but not sign new ones anymore. It would be a bit strange that they would sell me now while they can’t sign a replacement.”
