“I am going to stop” – Maurizio Sarri reveals his addiction plans

Chelsea’s new boss Maurizio Sarri is not willing to attract suspensions in the Premier League after arriving only a month before the start of the season.

The Italian has been at Chelsea a few weeks and is coming to terms with his restrictions when it comes to smoking in and around stadiums during official games.

He has been pictured chewing gums during games this season, with Stamford Bridge banning smoking, as is the case with all other Premier League venues across England.

Following his side’s 3-2 win over Arsenal last Saturday, Sarri admits the difficulty in not getting his cravings, revealing he will quit for a year or two before taking it up again.

“No, I needed half-time and the first half to end, not a cigarette. I am going to stop for just one or two years then I will start again.

At Napoli, Sarri was allowed to smoke during some games but he faces a different set of rules at Chelsea and may have to put up with some serious adjustments.

So far he has guided Chelsea to a strong start after two games in the Premier League, winning the two games against Huddersfield and Arsenal.

With Newcastle United coming up this weekend, Sarri will march to the third stadium in England, with a smoking ban, so far he has kept himself well.
