“Perhaps he never ends up in Madrid” – Eden Hazard’s father explains how his son may never play for Real Madrid

Eden Hazard is currently Chelsea’s most valuable player and will certainly not let him go easily, although all that could change next summer when he has only one year left on his deal. The Belgium captain has been linked with a move to Real Madrid for several years now, and it seemed the Blues will finally lose him this summer, only for him to report back to training and maintain he will not leave the club this month.

That has led to many believing he wants to experiment with what Maurizio Sarri is introducing at the club this season, following the rather destructive mood at the club under Antonio Conte in his last months at the club, before leaving to Spain next year.

Hazard was quoted by Kristof Terreur during the World Cup that he may want a change of clubs this summer.

But all those fears may have been allayed by his father who is at a loss why his son did not push for the move to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer.

Thierry Hazard says his son may have changed his mind about moving to join the La Liga giants this summer mainly because Zinedine Zidane – Hazard’s idol growing up as a kid in Belgium – did not stay at the club, as he was replaced by former Spain head coach Julen Lopetegui.

“I cannot say why it did not go through. Not because I do not want to, but because I do not know. Next year, Eden will have one year left on his contract, but perhaps he never ends up in Madrid.

It may be that it was a different story with Zidane. But then he will have had his reasons to leave.”

Chelsea currently have a mammoth £300,000 per week offer on the table for Hazard to sign if he wishes to commit his long term future to the club, as per the Daily Mail.
