Chelsea’s former goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois will not stop taking swipes at his old club after sealing a move to join Real Madrid this summer.
The new Los Blancos goalkeeper has granted an interview to Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad, detailing how great it is to play for Real and what differences there are between the two clubs.
Courtois left Stamford Bridge this summer to join the Santiago Bernabeu outfit after forcing his way out the exit door in London by not returning from his post 2018 World Cup holidays as per the Guardian. His attitude angered many Chelsea fans who thought he had disrespected the club who showed faith in him when he was only rising through the ranks in Belgium.
Despite the bad blood already existing between Courtois and his former fans, he does not mind making matters worse. He said after his debut for the club last weekend against Leganes that level at Real Madrid is higher than Chelsea.
“In training, you see that the level is high. I am now experiencing on a daily basis that Sergio Ramos is the best centre-back in the world. The level [at Real Madrid] is higher than at Chelsea.
[The Bernabeu is] twice as big [as Stamford Bridge], of course, it’s a very different feeling. If you look forward, you only see a wall of people, while at Stamford Bridge you can still see the sky or the hotel behind the grandstand.”

Courtois departure from Stamford Bridge this summer caused Chelsea to spend a world-record fee for a goalkeeper of £71 million on Kepa Arrizabalaga from signed from Atletic Bilbao. He has already made four Premier League appearances since his late summer move.
