“I hope to go back one day” – Chelsea summer signing wants return to former club after only two months of Stamford Bridge stay

Chelsea summer signing Jorginho is already wishing to return to Napoli after only a couple of months in the Premier League.

The midfielder revealed this in Italy’s press conference ahead of their international friendlies when he was quizzed about the differences between the Italian Serie A and the Premier League. He compared facilities at both clubs he’s worked with in the last two years, saying Chelsea’s was far better.

Jorginho has taken the English top flight by storm, already breaking club and league records with his slick passing ability and understanding of the modern game.

Having worked with Sarri at Napoli, where he flourished particularly last season in the defensive midfield role as a deep lying play maker, the Italian-born Brazilian has become one of the most important players at Chelsea in a very short time.

Despite his instant success, the 26-year old is missing ‘magnificent’ Napoli and would one day welcome a move back to ‘one of the best leagues in the world’.

“There were various things behind my departure from Napoli. The will of just one party is not enough. Serie A will always be one of the best leagues in the world. I hope to go back one day. There’s a difference in tempo and physicality between English and Italian football. However, you can’t not miss a magnificent place such as Napoli.

To understand the difference with the infrastructure in England you have to experience it. At Cobham, we have 38 pitches. Enough said. Sarri is enjoying his adventure in England but he’s not changing much, he’s sticking to his habits.”
