The former Chelsea defender who left the club in 2017 and joined Aston Villa for one season is a free agent and can speak with any club now. But despite the abundance of offers on his table, Terry has been slow in making a decision about his future and where he plays next.
The latest offer on the table was from Spartak Moscow who clearly still rate Terry and want the famed leader to join their dressing room this season.
But the 37-year old reveals he and his family have thought hard about the decision and think it’s not the right destination for them at the moment as they ponder other offers.
“After considerable thought, I have decided to decline a contract offer from Spartak Moscow. I would like to take the opportunity to thank Spartak and wish them and their supporters well for the rest of the season.
“They are an ambitious club and I have been very impressed with their professionalism. But after assessing this move with my family, we’ve decided this is not the right move for ourselves at this time. Good luck Spartak.”

Terry almost led Aston Villa back to the Premier League after his introduction to the team yielded positive results and a clear change in mentality as they pushed all the way into the playoffs as detailed by Bleacher Report’s football writer Sam Tighe.
Promotion was not achieved, but John Terry was brilliant in his year at #AVFC.
A major factor in changing the mentality at a club all at sea, had a big hand in Grealish’s leap in performance levels, and put in some very good ones of his own, too.

Now, Terry will seek other options to fulfil his dream of playing until he is 40 years old.
