Maurizio Sarri clearly points out to Chelsea fans how often they will see Alvaro Morata this season

Chelsea head coach Maurizio Sarri has identified a clear and efficient way of playing his two strikers this season after he decided to go with Olivier Giroud the last weekend.

Giroud was picked ahead of Alvaro Morata in Chelsea’s win over Cardiff City at Stamford Bridge and it looks as though the Frenchman will get more games this season than expected.

With Morata failing to score enough goal to keep his position in the team secure, Giroud has capitalized on that to get as many minutes as possible.

Although the former Arsenal striker failed to open his account this season for the Blues, he managed to convince not just the manager, but fans and teammates that he may be the ultimate team player. Giroud assisted Hazard’s first two goals of his hattrick, and that may be all Sarri was after when he revealed he will play both strikers a lot this season, depending on the opposition every game.

“In the last two weeks I have seen four matches of Cardiff and four matches of PAOK Salonika and for me, I thought [on Friday] Giroud was more suitable for this match and Morata more suitable for the other.

“I don’t know now who will be the striker of the future. I think both, because we have to play 60 matches. For their characteristics, they are different. It depends on the kind of match. [Giroud] played very well without scoring, but very useful for his teammates, I think.”
