Chelsea have proven a side to reckon with this season after the opening seven games in the Premier League, winning five and drawing two.
It is perhaps not just the results but the performances that have accompanied them, as the Blues seem to dominate the opposition teams that have faced all through the campaign. Several of the players have risen to fine form. Hazard has scored seven goals in eight appearances while the likes of Pedro, Willian, and other players have also stepped up to the plate when called upon.
There are those like David Luiz, who has been dragged out of the fringes as well this season, and now play consistently under Sarri. Luiz has been a fine center back option for the Italian this season and his displays mean he it can be considered that he was somewhat unfairly treated under Antonio Conte in the last.
The Brazil star reveals the reason he and his teammates are putting up such good performances is due to the head coach’s ability to inject confidence and happiness into the squad.
“Sarri is giving us a lot of happiness to play football. We are trying to enjoy. He gives us a lot of confidence. He shows us what he wants. He gives us the details about the game. He works hard in every situation. And also as a human he’s a fantastic person.
Every single day he says to us ‘you have the best job in the world, so you have to enjoy’. You have to try to do this with a big smile. Many people in the world don’t have this privilege.”
