The rules for the Europa League may have changed the last couple of seasons, and clubs now aim to win the competition so they can make the Champions League the following year. That, however, that does not mean the top managers will prioritize the Europa League over their domestic leagues and Maurizio Sarri has confirmed he is one of those.
The Blues are aiming to win all competitions this year but in truth that will be difficult to accomplish and so the obvious prioritization comes to play. Having had a fine start to life in the Premier League, it is no wonder Maurizio Sarri is aiming at finishing high in the domestic league at the expense of winning the Europa.
Europe’s second-tier club competition now ranks high on the objectives for top clubs but Sarri does not want his players to take their eyes off making top four in the League and when asked which is more important for his side this season, the Italian tactician revealed he wants both but the Premier League is ranked higher.
