“He’s unusual in the world of football” – Videoton boss Marko Nikolic sees Sarri as a part of special breed among world football coaches

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has received special praise from his Thursday night opponent, Videoton’s head coach Marko Nikolic after the Italian’s rise to become one of the most respected football tacticians in the world.

The Blues boss has been touted to become one of the most successful managers in Chelsea history if his attacking brand of football at Stamford Bridge brings silverware to the club and it’s owner Roman Abramovich. Sarri has developed an intricate and innovative tactical plan that has guided him in his time at Napoli before moving to join Chelsea this summer.

But it perhaps not just the style of football that pleases Nikolic so much. Sarri is also known for not prioritizing transfers over coaching to develop a squad and that has drawn praise from his opponent in the Europa League second group game on Thursday.

Nikolic was effusive in his praise of his colleague at the Bridge as he prepares to avoid a second defeat in the competition.
