Huge Manchester United star could miss Premier League clash with Chelsea after international break

Manchester United star midfielder Nemanja Matic could miss the Red Devils’ trip to Chelsea after the international break after the Serbia international pulled out of the upcoming UEFA Nations League games due to an unspecified injury.

Fears are that the ex Chelsea midfielder would not be able to recover in time to face his former side. Man United had confirmed the player is returning to Carrington, the club’s training complex, “to complete his rehabilitation” but the Independent further reports that the player’s absence could extend to the game against Chelsea which will be a big blow to Jose Mourinho.

The Portuguese manager will hope to have all his players fully fit and ready for the trip to the Bridge on October 20, especially as his side’s form is nothing to write home about. United won their first game in six after the comeback victory over Newcastle United last weekend and would hope to build on the positive result.

However, Chelsea stand in their way and after the Blues early blistering form, Mourinho would like to count on the likes of Matic and other senior players in his side to find the needed three points.
