Ross Barkley reveals why his tattoos were removed

Ross Barkley’s maturity has been questioned as much as anyone’s over the years, but this interesting little snippet might change people’s minds.

It’s easy to forget now – especially as he often wore long-sleeved shirts back then – but Ross once had a fully tattooed arm.

But looking at him now, he’s back to clear skin again.

Given how much he’s been in the spotlight recently, that lead to a lot of people noticing, and the midfielder’s quotes on the subject were very interesting:

“My first tattoo was when I was 14. I was a bit young, like. I was a big lad so they didn’t question my age at the time. I started getting them removed a couple of years ago.” the former Everton man said.

“I would never rule out getting another, maybe when I have kids I might have something done to go with that. I don’t know.”

Of course it’s silly and unfair to judge someone by something like their tattoos, but he clearly feels it represents a more immature time in his life, and his efforts to get them removed over what must have been a pretty tough period for him thanks to his severe injuries, show his development.

That’s really becoming clear on the pitch, where he is pushing harder than ever for a starting spot under Maurizio Sarri.
