Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley is in free-scoring form this season, after grabbing his third goal of the Premier League campaign against Burnley last Saturday.
The Blues were positively impressive in their display at the Turf Moor and secured an emphatic 4-0 win over their opponents. Among the scorers was Ross Barkley who was given the nod over Mateo Kovacic to play on the left of the Blues three-man midfield. Shortly after the break, the former Everton star drilled home Chelsea’s second goal of the game from well outside the box.
His form has been generally good and he continues to remind Chelsea fans of their legend Frank Lampard.
According to OptaJoe on Twitter, Barkley has now become the very first Englishman to score in three consecutive Premier League games for Chelsea since Lampard did so five seasons ago.
