Chelsea central defender David Luiz has reportedly been added to a list of players Barcelona are currently considering to add to their defensive options next summer.
The centre half has become a key cog in Maurizio Sarri’s squad this season with some fine displays. He returns to the Blues starting 11 after missing several months of action last term under Antonio Conte. Disciplinary issues and loss of form led to his absence from the side he had helped to clinch the Premier League title only a year before.
Luiz’s form now alerts top clubs now in Europe and despite being on the wrong side of 30, the Brazil international has now been put on a list of defenders Barcelona want to sign next summer.
In the report by El Mundo, Arsenal’s Laurent Koscielny joins Luiz and 13 other players on a summer wishlist.
Luiz fits the Barcelona philosophy well and with the absence of Samuel Umtiti and Thomas Vermaelen who are out injured, the Catalonian club are desperate to add to their options in defense. He joins Willian who continues to be chased by the La Liga giants.
