Big opportunity as €55million striker waits for Maurizio Sarri’s call to move to Chelsea

Chelsea have been greeted with one piece of good news from a dreadful weekend as Italian media report that AC Milan striker Gonzalo Higuain is waiting on a phone call from Chelsea to make a decision on his future.

The report indicates that Chelsea still retain an interest in the Argentina international and are hoping to sign him up when the opportunity arises. Higuain, who is on loan from Juventus has scored five goals in his first ten games for Gennaro Gattuso’s side this season and continues to be the main goal outlet for the San Siro based side.

His loan Milan saw Leonardo Bonucci move in the opposite direction and the Rossoneri now have an option to buy in the summer of 2019 and may cost up to €55million according to Tranfermarkt.

However, Corriere Dello Sport says Higuain wants to wait before committing his future to either Juventus or Milan in the Serie A as he would prefer a move to London instead. He aims to reunite with Sarri, who he worked with in the tactician’s first season at Napoli.
