Chelsea likely to be met with dreaded return of Manchester City midfield star in Premier League clash

Pep Guardiola was hoping to have his star midfielder Kevin De Bruyne back from injury when his side face Bournemouth in the Premier League this weekend, but a report by the Manchester Evening News says the player will rather be available for the game against Chelsea a week later.

The Blues have been on a poor run in the top flight, dropping to fourth in the standings, despite an early season blossom and facing the Citizens would seem a monumental task already on their current form. Add De Bruyne to the explosive machine at Man City and Maurizio Sarri’s struggling side will have their work cut out in their quest to close the gap between them and the table toppers.

However, it is unlikely the Belgium star will be rushed back from his latest injury setback. The former Wolfsburg playmaker has sustained a knee ligament damage in each of the last three seasons and would need time to recover.

Hopefully, Chelsea face a City side without their talismanic creator in the middle of the park.
