Chelsea head coach Maurizio Sarri will have a decision to make on who starts in the deep-lying playmaker role when his side take on Manchester City at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
The Italian tactician has preferred Jorginho in the position this season after the pair worked together brilliantly in their time at Napoli. Jorginho was the master creator when Sarri’s Napoli almost beat Juventus to the Serie A title last term but after both left for London last summer, Fabregas has been the biggest loser.
He had to wait for 15 games before making a first Premier League start, the longest in his professional career, but when he did, Fabregas reminded everyone of his great ability in midfield.
He controlled the game against Wolves and made it easier when Chelsea launched attacks. He produced some spellbinding moments when he found teammates with long-range passes or short.
More importantly for Sarri, with Jorginho being found out by opposition managers in recent weeks, Fabregas might be a quick response to breaking apart stubborn defenses and a brave heart will insist starting the experienced Spain international over the favored Jorginho.
