Chelsea’s victory over Watford in the Premier League on Boxing Day revealed more than just a positive reaction from Maurizio Sarri’s star as he has requested in the past days. Eden Hazard also provided enough evidence, in the right mood, he could be a reliable figure upfront.
In the absence of Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud, both sidelined due to tactical and health reasons, Hazard held the fort well for 90 minutes. His guile and agility in the middle of the front three helped Chelsea’s attack maneuver the Hornets backline and create all sorts of problems for Javi Gracia’s side.
Chelsea created several chances at Vicarage Road, with Hazard in the thick of things providing two key passes that could lead to a goal and amassing 80% pass accuracy as per Hazard Stuff on Twitter.

Following his exploits in Chelsea’s win over Manchester City early December, Hazard has started in the false nine-role three more times bagging three goals in the process. Despite missing a glorious chance from four yards out in the first half, Hazard grew well in the course of the game and became a fine outlet for the Blues in their attacks.
Sarri needs a striker as soon as possible but in the meantime, Hazard is holding down the spot well.
