Chelsea will be boosted by news from Italy that their top target in the Italian Serie A for the winter transfer window is set to play his last game for AC Milan.
Gonzalo Higuain is currently on loan from Juventus but the season-long contract set to expire at the end of the campaign will be cut short by the striker after an agreement has been struck by Chelsea and Milan to move the Argentina forward to London with Alvaro Morata going the opposite direction temporarily.
According to Football Italia Higuain will play his last game against SPAL this weekend and then complete his move to Chelsea.
Maurizio Sarri has stuck with Eden Hazard as a false nine in recent games, with Olivier Giroud and Alvaro Morata both failing to get enough goals this season. Their tally stands at six combined in the Premier League this season and Higuain’s move to Stamford Bridge is a desperate measure to save the Blues’ campaign.
