Chelsea forward Eden Hazard has been phenomenal this season but has failed at some crucial points when points were lost by his side in the Premier League, and now his teammate N’Golo Kante accepts every player needs to take up the scoring mandate.
The Blues were kept at bay by Southampton last Wednesday at Stamford Bridge to further pull them away from Tottenham Hotspur in the race for the top four. Maurizio Sarri’s side, despite dominating the possession statistics during the game, failed to score a goal besides Alvaro Morata’s that was ruled offside in the second half.
Hazard has been made the go-to man for goals this season for the Blues but he cannot be the lone ranger up front. Whether as a false nine or in his more natural position on the left wing, the Belgium international carries the burden of goals following the clear failings of Morata and Olivier Giroud and Kante feels that can’t work for the team.
“We all know Eden is a fantastic player, he’s helped us a lot during this season and the seasons before. He can make the difference at any time, but we need to count on everyone. We created chances that we missed. It’s a difficult moment but we need to bounce back.”

Kante’s words can be considered a warning to Sarri who has stood by the fact that he wants no other striker to join his side in January.
