Chelsea’s win over Nottingham Forest on Saturday means they progress through to the fourth round of the competition this season, making it the 20th consecutive year they have done so.
The Blues love the FA Cup and it’s clear from the number of wins in recent seasons. Under several coaches, Chelsea have lifted the oldest club knockout competition five times in the Roman Abramovich era. Their last was under Antonio Conte last term, though the Italian manager was sacked only months later.
Their love for the competition makes it almost irrelevant which manager the players play under, they simply are in it to win it, most of the time.
In total, they have won it eight times and although that pales in comparison to Arsenal who are the most successful in the FA Cup with 13 trophies, Chelsea have a knack of starting well. The top-flight clubs enter the FA Cup in the third round stage, and Chelsea have won all 20 games at this stage since losing to Manchester United in 1997-98.
