The days when Gonzalo Higuain was in demand long striker look to be over, and in fact the whispers are that neither us nor his parent club really want him.
Prolific in his early years in the Italian Serie A, setting records and breaking some long-standing ones, Higuain is now the option the Bianconeri can afford to pass up as per a report by the Daily Mail. The Mail says should Chelsea not take up one of the two options available to them – either buying the 31-year old for £31.5million or simply extending the loan deal for another 12 months for £16million – Juventus will offer him to other clubs as he does not fall within their plans going forward.

The record Serie A winners are looking for ways to cut down their wage bill and allowing Higuain to leave is a step in the right direction.
He has scored two goals in his brief Chelsea stint – both coming in his first start at Stamford Bridge against Huddersfield in the Premier League – but has yet to score anymore since. Integral to Maurizio Sarri’s plans this season, Higuain was nonetheless left out of the starting line-up against Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final last Sunday, coming on later in extra time, having also not featured against Malmo earlier in the week. We expect him to start against Spurs, tonight.
