An act of defiance must be fittingly dealt with, and when Chelsea’s line-up was released for the Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur, there was one key name missing, deservedly.
Kepa Arrizabalaga, after refusing to be substituted in the Carabao Cup final, was punished by head coach Maurizio Sarri. There had been calls for the player to be dealt with and the Italian responded.
Sarri told BT Sport after the win over Spurs that he took a decision to make a point to the other players in the squad. You can watch Sarri’s interview embedded below:
"It is a message for my group." 👀
"We are a group, not 25 players."
