Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi may only be a teenager, but he has definitely raised eyebrows around the world with his glittering performances at senior level, with the latest coming on his England debut.
The 18-year old’s journey to the England Three Lions’ squad was a fortuitous one. Injuries to some key players created room for the little genius to make an entry. A surprise call-up led to a surprise start against Montenegro on Monday. An assist and a general fine display in Podgorica revealed Hudson-Odoi’s readiness for the big stage at Chelsea.

Maurizio Sarri has done well for the Blues academy graduate but it is apparently not good enough. The jury has been out on Sarri since the start of the season. There were times against the Montenegrin defense that Hudson-Odoi left them for dead on the turf, skipping past them and creating chances for the England attack.
Bayern are an astute club in the transfer market and their choice of players is rarely poor. When they came out in full force for Chelsea youngster in January, it was a real shock. But Hudson-Odoi has not disappointed, whenever he is given the opportunity to prove why.
On the evidence of his display on Monday, Gareth Southgate can now trust he has another prodigy to rely on in the future.
