Cesar Azpilicueta has revealed both the loudest and the quietest members of the Chelsea squad during an interview with the club’s official website.
Azpi’s duty as on-field captain is to know every one of his players inside-out. He’s one of the longest-serving members of the squad, so you’d expect him to have developed a decent understanding of them.
The Spaniard has seen incredibly vocal members of the dressing room depart during his time at Stamford Bridge, but it looks as though we partially replaced them back in July 2017.
Speaking to the Chelsea website, Azpilicueta revealed who’s the loudest member of the dressing room:
“Rudiger. You can hear him! Whether it is in the dressing room, on the pitch or at the table, you know where he is.”
You certainly get that vibe from Rudiger. He’s one of the most characteristic on the field of play, so it comes as no surprise that he’s the same behind the scenes.

On the other end of the spectrum comes a Chelsea academy product, who Azpi named as the quietest member of the Chelsea squad. He told the Chelsea interviewer:
“Ruben is quite quiet. I have been with him a long time, he started to train with us when he was 17 but still he is very quiet. You will never see him talking loudly and even though he grew, he is still a quiet kid.”
Loftus-Cheek has plenty of confidence in his own ability, he need not stamp about and kick up a fuss. Being more reserved that N’Golo Kante is quite the feat, too!
