“I was impressed” – Maurizio Sarri chooses one Chelsea star for praise and it’s not Hudson-Odoi or Loftus-Cheek

Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Callum Hudson-Odoi have been two of the most talked about Chelsea players in recent times, purely for their respective roles in the first team, but Maurizio Sarri decided to pick out a different player for praise after the 3-0 win over Brighton and Hove Albion.

The talk was centered around Hudson-Odoi making the first start in the Premier League and deservedly so. The 18-year old looked comfortable on the ball and created a mess in Brighton’s defense several times in the first half before finding Olivier Giroud for the first goal.

Loftus-Cheek was also involved heavily. He scored a cracking goal to make it 3-0 and both were in the fans’ good books. Andreas Christensen was silently dispatching the Brighton attacks in defense alongside David Luiz as Sarri called on him ahead of Antonio Rudiger.

He made clean tackles and passed the ball efficiently from the back and that is what Sarri chose to comment on.

“I have to say another thing, we are talking about Callum and Ruben but I was impressed by Christensen on the pitch so I want to speak about him also because he played five or six matches really very well.”
