According to the ever reliable Kristof Terreur, there is little chance of Crystal Palace purchasing Michy Batshuayi on a permanent basis.
Palace are well-accustomed to expensive Belgian strikers who struggle to find the back of the net. Christian Benteke has scored just three times in his last 43 Premier League appearances.
Roy Hodgson will be wary that they could have another in the shape of Batshuayi, who’s netted twice in eight starts during his brief stint at Selhurst Park.
It’s safe to say that Michy hasn’t set the world alite during his winter loan this season in the manner that he did at Borussia Dortmund last season.
He likely hasn’t done enough to convince Palace he’s worthy of opening their chequebook for, which is just as well, as there’s no buy option in the deal which took him there.

At least, that’s what Terreur claims. His information is that there was a £3M loan fee, plus wages, but there’s no mention of any clause which could see him move permanently.
Crystal Palace are eager to sell Christian Benteke, but he’s considering running down his contract that expires in 2020.

That could prove to be just as well, seeing as we may be unable to sign players this coming summer.
