Emerson Palmieri has reportedly made his stance over his Chelsea future clear, and it could prove to be bad news for one of his teammates.
When a player’s situation changes, it usually means that several other aspects of his life will be on the receiving end of the knock-on action.
Emerson has recently started to get game time under Maurizio Sarri, and that decision by Sarri increased the chances of the Brazilian remaining at Stamford Bridge.
Question marks emerged over his future, with him struggling to enter the starting line up consistently at Stamford Bridge. He has long played deputy to Marcos Alonso since his arrival from AS Roma last summer.

In the last couple of months, Palmieri has overtaken the Spain international and gotten the nod in the left full back slot except for one Europa League match, away at Slavia Prague.
Goal says his improved status at the London club has pushed interested clubs like Inter Milan away, with Palmieri happy to stay at Chelsea.
This will be good news for Chelsea’s top hierarchy who will be saved the stress of finding a replacement, especially with the possibility of a transfer ban.
Whether Emerson is the long-term solution to the left-back spot remains to be seen, but the recent signs have been encouraging, from both his and a Chelsea standpoint.
It could prove to be bad news for Alonso, however. Considering his success over previous campaigns, it’s unclear as to whether he’d be willing to accept a bit-part role.
Alonso has become somewhat of a scapegoat among the Chelsea community. This season has proven to be a difficult one for him – and it’s just got that little bit worse.
