Maurizio Sarri has emerged as a potential candidate to take over from Gennaro Gattuso at AC Milan, according to Corriere dello Sport.
Chelsea are still very much in contention to finish in the top four and win the Europa League, but Sarri will still be having trouble sleeping at night through fear of his job security.
The Blues have been incredibly inconsistent throughout the Italian’s debut campaign. It’s for that reason that we’ve been unable to cement a place in the Champions League qualification spots.
This season draws parallels to the last, which saw Antonio Conte dismissed after Chelsea finished fifth. If Sarri is unable to nick fourth spot, he may well find his head on the chopping block.

Thankfully for Maurizio, there are already options for him available, should he find himself in need of new employment. One of which is a return to Italy with AC Milan.
Corriere dello Sport believe that Sarri is on the Rossoneri’s shortlist to replace Gattuso, with Milan also at serious risk of missing out on the Champions League.
Sarri would undoubtedly prefer to keep his position at Chelsea, but if Roman Abramovich deems him unworthy to do so, a move to Milan is a excellent plan B.
