Chelsea academy product Nathan Ake has proven that we’re still the club who holds his heart by scoring the winning goal against Tottenham this afternoon.
Ake, formerly of Chelsea, departed Stamford Bridge in search of regular first-team football, which he has found under the stewardship of Eddie Howe at Bournemouth.
His side’s task this afternoon was to deny Spurs the chance of sealing their Champions League qualification, which they have done so successfully.
Spurs contributed to their own downfall, having two players sent off and subsequently playing the majority of the second-half with just nine men.
It took until the 91st minute for the home side to find a breakthrough, though, and poetically, it was one of our own who scored the goal to condemn Spurs to defeat.
