Chelsea 23-year-old set to return after Premier League loan comes to an end

Newcastle United have opted against signing Chelsea loanee Kenedy on a permanent basis. According to the Chronicle, the Brazilian will be returning to Stamford Bridge.

Kenedy showed enormous potential during the early stages of his Chelsea career, but there has to be questions as to whether he has the attitude of a someone capable of being a top player.

He hasn’t exactly applied himself anywhere he’s been, which we initially put down to him being young and naive. He’s 23 now, however, the excuses are fast running out.

Newcastle initially looked as though they could provide a suitable home for the former Fluminense man, but it doesn’t look as though a permanent move will be materialising.

The Chronicle believe that the Magpies have opted against it, with Kenedy now set to return to Chelsea and presumably be involved in our pre-season campaign under Maurizio Sarri.

Whether Sarri will see him as a genuine option for his 2019/20 squad remains to be seen, but it wouldn’t surprise us if Kenedy were to walk out the door for good this summer.
