Chelsea-Arsenal combined starting XI ahead of tonight’s Europa League final

Chelsea against Arsenal, a fixture with so much history that we dare not dive into it.

All that you need to know ahead of a game of this magnitude is written across the faces of the fans. This means so much to every single one of them, and not only because it’s a major trophy.

For Chelsea, this is an opportunity to deny our arch-rivals the Europa League crown and Champions League qualification. That ought to give the players all the motivation they need.

These are two teams, that even with Arsenal not threatening for the title in recent years, have developed a bitter rivalry, one that will come to the fore as the teams battle in Baku tonight.

How could two teams, with such ill feeling towards each other, ever join forces to build a single starting eleven? The simple answer is that they couldn’t, only in text.

If the Earth’s axis spun and Chelsea and Arsenal suddenly became fond of eachother, we believe that we could build the greatest combined starting eleven of them all.

And it would look something like this…

In the interest of fairness, we’ve only used players who will be available for tonight’s game – and N’Golo Kante is yet to be officially ruled out as he battles through a knee injury.

As you can see, the defence is utterly dominated by Chelsea blue, but Arsenal have more dominance on the frontfoot, particularly with their two superstar centre-forwards.

Do you agree, Blues? Or have we got it horribly wrong?
