‘I’m sad’ – Maurizio Sarri emotional as Chelsea superstar confirms his departure

Maurizio Sarri revealed his sadness last night following Eden Hazard’s confirmation that he will be leaving Chelsea this summer.

Sarri has heavily relied on the Belgian wizard this season and you have to wonder where we’d be without his influence.

It’s now safe to say that Sarri will have to head into his second season as Chelsea manager without Hazard, which will be a new challenge for him.

If last night showed anything, though, it’s that Sarri has finally got his Chelsea players playing HIS way, which bodes well ahead of next term.

Even if Sarri is optimistic about the future, he’s still gutted to be losing Eden. Speaking following the game, he’s quoted by Football Italia saying:

“I’m sad, because Hazard is an extraordinary player and can achieve even more. He’s an odd lad, but once you get into his comfort zone, he’s wonderful.”

Hazard has done enough for his football club to earn his perfect goodbye, which it appears he got with two goals in Baku last night.

Sarri, and all the rest of us, will shed a tear when he departs, but wish him the best of luck in his new adventure.
