Chelsea fans hit back at UEFA during the Europa League final last night, despite the Blues winning the competition following a 4-1 victory over Arsenal.
While every Chelsea fan across the globe will wake up with a smile on their face this afternoon, it could’ve been wider had we been waking up with a hangover in Baku.
That could have been the case for many of us, had it not been implausible for the vast majority of Chelsea fans to make the trip to Baku and watch the final in the flesh.
The result was a half-empty stadium with very little atmosphere, which quite frankly, felt like a pre-season at times. It was a good game, but a pretty dire event.
The Chelsea fans in attendance were not going to pass up their opportunity to criticise UEFA for deeming Baku to be a suitable location for such a momentous fixture.

And good for them! Football is about the fans, yet UEFA continually put their own (financial) interests over what’s best for the majority. It needs to change, and fast.
