Chelsea academy product Kyle Scott is poised to become a Newcastle United player when his contract expires at the end of the month, according to The Sun.
Scott is a bizarre case, having actually been part of the first-team squad in the 2017/18 season. He was named on the bench on several occasions before eventually making his debut.
Following that, however, he was sent on-loan to Dutch second division side Telstar, which is a little below his pay grade, don’t you think?
Either way, his contract is due to expire at the end of June, with The Sun reporting that Rafa Benitez is prepared to give him a chance of making it at Newcastle.
Now 21-years-old, Scott certainly needs to find somewhere he can settle and play first-team football. Chelsea isn’t that place, while St. James’ Park may be.
If he does depart, we wish him the best of luck going forward in his career. He’ll always be welcome back at Chelsea, along with any of our own who walk out the door.
