Five Chelsea loanees are likely to be considered for roles in the first-team squad next season, according to a report published by the Telegraph.
The report leads on the idea that Chelsea may be left with no option but to see out the transfer ban, when it had previously been suggested that we could delay it for a year.
That would leave whoever our manager will be next season with an almighty rebuilding job, without the possibility of signing players.
It’s a unique situation, but one that could have seriously negative consequences for us if we get it wrong. There’s one way to survive it – and that’s to trust the youth.
As per the Telegraph, that’s exactly what we’re expected to do. As many as five of our current crop of loanees could be in the first-team squad next season.
They are, the report claims, Michy Batshuayi, Kurt Zouma, Mason Mount, Tammy Abraham and Reece James. We really hope this claim materialises, as they all deserve a shot.
