(Video): Chelsea pay tribute to Fernando Torres in wake of striker’s retirement

Chelsea paid tribute to Fernando Torres on Twitter after the Spaniard announced his retirement from football on Friday morning.

While Torres was a mixed bag in a Chelsea shirt, he is still thought of highly by the club and the Blues faithful.

He provided us with some truly memorable moments, none more so than his famous goal against Barcelona in the Champions League.

In wake of news of his retirement, Chelsea took to Twitter to use that goal as a way to celebrate Torres’ career. It’s always worth a watch…

The striker was devoid of confidence for the best part of the 16 months prior to our second-leg trip to the Nou Camp, but delivered when it mattered the most.

While Chelsea were headed through regardless thanks to Ramires’ gorgeous chip, Torres’ equaliser on the night signed and sealed our trip to Munich.

We’ll never tire of talking about it, nor watching it. By the look of things, neither will those st the Chelsea headquarters.
