Chelsea could be set for full-back crisis with two players open to summer transfer

Chelsea could be left with a dilemma in the full-back areas, with both Marcos Alonso and Davide Zappacosta open to leaving, according to the Telegraph.

While the transfer ban remains in force, Chelsea will undoubtedly be reluctant to allow too many of the first-team squad walk out the door this summer.

However, the Telegraph report that two prominent figures at Cobham are considering the possibility of leaving the club this window.

They are, per the Telegraph, Davide Zappacosta and Marcos Alonso, both of whom faded into obscurity towards the end of Maurizio Sarri’s rein.

Neither departing would necessarily be a hammer blow to our chances of success next term, but it’d certainly weaken the squad, with replacing them not a possibility.

Frank Lampard faces the task of convincing them that it’ll be worth sticking around under his management, else we could find ourselves in a sticky situation.

It wouldn’t have been such a problem if Chelsea hadn’t already allowed Jay Da Silva to leave on a permanent deal, but you know…
