Chelsea qualifying for Champions League bad news for one foreign player

Chelsea will be forced to sell a foreign player this summer in order to meet the regulations set out by UEFA for the Champions League squads, report the Telegraph.

The Blues ensured that they would be competing in Europe’s top tier competition next season by securing a third-place finish in the Premier League under Maurizio Sarri.

While playing in the Champions League was the ultimate aim and we are delighted to have been able to achieve it, we are now under further restraints in terms of our squad.

We didn’t anticipate much chopping and changing of the squad while the transfer ban remains in force, but the Telegraph report that we may be left with no choice.

It’s claimed that Chelsea need to get rid of at least one foreign player in order to be compliant with UEFA’s regulations, which could be bad news for someone in our ranks.

We could speculate endlessly about who the departee may prove to be, but it’d be a waste of time and energy. Let’s just sit tight and wait and see.
