Chelsea are taking a firm stance with Atletico Madrid over loanee Alvaro Morata, according to the Telegraph.
Morata departed Chelsea back in January to sign for Atletico on an 18 month loan deal. The move appeared to be beneficial to all parties involved.
The Spaniard was never going to prove to be a success at Stamford Bridge, with both the fans and Maurizio Sarri growing frustrated with his inconsistency.
Morata went on to net six times for Atletico between the closing of the winter market and the end of the season. He became an important figure at the Wanda Metropolitano.
However, Chelsea could be set to upset the equilibrium. The Telegraph believe that we are demanding Atletico cough up £50M, else we will be recalling him.
You can see the strategy from Chelsea. This is the best opportunity we will get to recoup the majority of what we paid for Morata in the summer of 2017.
Whether Atletico will bow to our demands remains to be seen…
