Frank Lampard’s brilliant request to Chelsea coaches outlines his intentions

Frank Lampard is to make a request to Chelsea’s backroom staff which is a clear indication of his willingness to integrate the youth into the first-team.

It’s widely believed that Lampard’s arrival will see many of our younger players be given a chance in the first-team, and the Telegraph have now reinforced that view.

The Telegraph’s report notes that Lampard will request that the first-team and academy training sessions are scheduled at different times so that he will be able to watch our youngsters in action.

That is an unprecedented move from a Chelsea manager, and one that really outlines Lampard’s intentions for his return. No longer will our brightest young talent be shunned.

It ought to offer a great deal of encouragement to those coming up through the ranks, desperately hoping that they will get their break in the first-team. Lampard could be the man to give them it.

The only way this is going to work is if Roman Abramovich and Marina Granovskaia give him sufficient time to implement his ideas. Failing to do so would be completely unforgivable.
