It’s that time of the month, where Telegraph journalist Matt Law gives us the run down on everything that’s going on down at Cobham.
This one’s a Frank Lampard special edition…
It’s claimed in his report that the former Chelsea midfielder has already agreed a contract which will see him return to his beloved Blues as manager.
Lampard is believed to have reached an agreement on Monday, putting an end to the best part of a month’s worth of constant speculation.
The former club vice-captain will become Maurizio Sarri’s successor, more than two weeks after the Italian’s move to Juventus was confirmed.
Lampard arrives in time for the start of Chelsea’s pre-season campaign, which will give him a proper opportunity to assess his squad and the returning loanees.
A new era is set to begin at Stamford Bridge, with a club legend the face of it. There’ll scarcely be a Chelsea fan out there without a smile on their face when this is officially announced.
