Chelsea set to be presented with opportunity to sell big-money flop in permanent deal

Chelsea may finally be presented with an opportunity to get Alvaro Morata off their books, with Atletico Madrid preparing a bid, according to the Telegraph.

While Morata is only on-loan at Atletico at the time of writing, it has become increasingly clear since he left in January that this relationship has been broken for good.

Morata appears to be content with life in Madrid, while he endured a difficult time at Chelsea. The Blues have also got three strikers at their disposal who will all be desperate for an opportunity.

The best case scenario is that Chelsea are able to cash-in on Morata this summer and put the funds aside to invest into a superstar centre-forward when next summer comes around.

Well, if the Telegraph are to be believed, that may well be set to happen. They claim that Atletico, who have a £50M buy option on Morata, are preparing an offer for the Spaniard.

Whether said bid will meet Chelsea’s valuation is up to Atletico, but even with Joao Felix arriving from Benfica, they have raised a considerable amount from sales this summer.

All signs point to this one going through.
