PSG announce the capture of 19-year-old goalkeeper following Chelsea exit

Paris Saint-Germain have officially announced the signing of former Chelsea goalkeeper Marcin Bulka, following the expiration of his contract.

Bulka featured in pre-season last summer under Maurizio Sarri, with Thibaut Courtois choosing to disappear in hope of forcing through a move to Real Madrid.

While Bulka was part of Chelsea’s first-team squad for the entire 2018/19 campaign, he never threatened to push past Willy Caballero and become our reserve keeper.

With Chelsea also signing Kepa Arrizabalaga on a seven-year contract last summer, it appeared difficult that Bulka would ever get an opportunity to impress here.

He didn’t appear keen on wasting his time, with the 19-year-old choosing not to extend his contract and instead sign a deal with Ligue 1 giants PSG.

Whether he will get any more chances in Paris than at Chelsea is unclear, but Gianluigi Buffon’s return to Juventus will certainly do him no harm.
